Kuduru

Here’s another style of electronic music which might caught my interest lately. This one is a mix of soca, tribal house and ragga with some heavy electro and rave elements. And it comes from Angola. It’s called kuduru.

Kuduru has spread from Angola to the rest of the Portuguese speaking parts of Africa and there’s also a kuduru scene in Lisbon, Portugal which, as far as I understand, is more inspired by house and techno.

Here’s a YouTube account with enough kuduru videos to keep you busy for a while.
